MIVEC ( Mitsubishi innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system)
Now i want to introduce about this engine with my knowledge which i have learn. Although this engine has been using in japan long time ago but it is quite a good performance engine which has been using in malaysian. i like it because it is not a turbo type engine.I like an NA engine. (Naturally aspirated).
1.At low speeds, a mild (low-lift) cam lobe provides stable idle, lower emissions and increased torque at lower speeds.
2.at high speed,a second set of cam lobes are activated, providing higher lift and duration; therefore a greater quantity of air into the combustion chamber which increases the power and torque output over a broad engine speed range.
There are many types of mivec :
1. mivec silver top
2.mivec black top
2.mivec black top
3. mivec Rs
4.Mivec md (same power but much more fuel economy consumption)
5.mivec turbo (hybrid)
6. mivec v6
Maximum Torque :172 bhp) @ 7,500 rpm
167 N·m (123 ft·lbf) @ 7,000 rpm
Advantage:
1. Durable engine (NA)
2.fuel Consumption good.
3. Maintenance ok than turbo
3. Maintenance ok than turbo
4.In highway ( more power than gsr turbo)
Disadvantages
1. spare part rare.
2. ecu(computer box) to expensive.
3.cannot modified too much than turbo.
Modification of mivec:
1. Air intake and hks air filter.
2. adjust piping 2.3' - 25' inch.
3. Rally art ecu
4. VTEC Controller ( VAFC 1 or 2)
5.Upgrade 4g93 blog.
6.Change throttle body
7. lsd gearbox
8. Add e-manage+ dyno.
9.Use adjustable campulley,upgrade high tension cable plug and and change to iridium spark plug.
